The Blue Comet, a named passenger train operated by the Central Railroad of New Jersey, travels over the mainline of the Highland Pacific Railroad. The locomotive and passenger cars were all painted by Rey Castillo, an active member of the Highland Park Society of Model Railroad Engineers, Inc.

This video by Ray Olesen has HO-scale model trains on the move at the Highland Pacific model train club in San Gabriel, CA. The first clip features Jerry Duncan's mostly-Santa Fe refer train pulled by a sound-equipped Milwaukee Road steamer. In the final clip the same refer drag has a Santa Fe 2-10-2 on the point. Sandwiched in between, a Southern Pacific passenger train is pulled by a pair of Kodachrome SDP45s followed by Steve Smith, Sr.'s Union Pacific business special pulled by a custom painted SD70AH #1943.
